Privacy Policy
Effective October 25, 2026
Short version: Focus Please stores your account details and the tasks you write so it can show them back to you. It does not sell your data, show ads, use trackers or analytics, or use your data to train AI models.
Who we are
Focus Please (“we”, “us”) is a personal task app at use.focusplease.ca, operated by Austin Johnson in Canada. Questions or requests: privacy@togetherplease.ca.
What we collect
- Account details: your email address, name and an account identifier. If you sign in with Google, we receive only your basic Google profile: name, email address, profile picture and whether your email is verified. We do not receive or keep access to your Gmail, Drive, Calendar, contacts or any other Google data.
- Your tasks: what you type into the app, such as task titles, next actions, notes, goals, milestones, estimates, and the revision history of each change.
- Sign-in records: session records needed to keep you signed in. Session tokens are stored only in hashed or encrypted form.
- Limited technical logs: when a request fails, we record the page path, status and an error code to fix problems. These logs do not include your task contents, cookies or full web addresses, and are deleted after at most 7 days. Our hosting provider briefly processes your IP address to deliver pages and to limit repeated sign-in attempts.
This landing page sets no cookies and collects nothing.
How we use it
Only to run the app: to sign you in, keep you signed in, store and show your tasks, keep each task's history, protect the service from abuse, and fix errors. We do not use your data for advertising, profiling, or training AI or machine-learning models, and we do not sell or rent it.
Google user data
Focus Please's use of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements. We use Google sign-in data only to identify you and let you into your own account. We do not transfer it to anyone except the service providers below, as needed to provide sign-in, and we never use it for ads.
Cookies
The app uses two strictly necessary cookies: one that keeps you signed in for up to 30 days, and a short-lived one, lasting up to 10 minutes, that secures each sign-in attempt. There are no analytics, advertising or third-party tracking cookies.
Who processes it for us
- Cloudflare hosts the app and stores your tasks in a database located in North America.
- WorkOS handles sign-in, including email codes and Google sign-in, and stores your account details.
- Google, if you choose Google sign-in, confirms your identity under Google's own privacy policy.
We share data with no one else, except where the law requires it.
Where it's stored
Your data is stored and processed in the United States by the providers above. By using Focus Please you understand your information may be processed outside Canada, under those providers' safeguards.
How long we keep it
Tasks and their history are kept for as long as your account exists. Expired sign-in records are cleared and then deleted 30 days after they expire. Error logs are deleted after at most 7 days.
Your choices and rights
- Get a copy: download all your tasks and their history anytime from the account menu (Download a copy).
- Correct: edit any task in the app.
- Delete: email privacy@togetherplease.ca to have your account and all tasks deleted. We'll confirm within 30 days. You can also remove Focus Please's access from your Google Account under Security → Third-party connections.
- Ask or complain: contact us first. You may also contact the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada.
Security
All traffic uses HTTPS. Only the account owner can sign in to a desk, sign-in sessions are encrypted, and access to the database is limited to the app itself. No system is perfectly secure, but we'll tell you promptly if a breach affects your data.
Children
Focus Please is not intended for children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their information.
Changes
If this policy changes, we'll update the date above. For significant changes, we'll let account holders know before they take effect.
